Coburg Cricket Club

Memorabilia

In this day and age the quality of many sporting clubs is often measured by its on field success.

Whilst on field success is important we believe that other qualities help set the Coburg Cricket Club above the rest, and those qualities are the wonderful past members who’ve forged a club history to be proud of. And as we know - a club’s history is its soul.

The Coburg Cricket Club, founded in 1856 is really steeped in history. A history which is littered with names such as Mailer, McR.Gillies, Huntington, Paull, Weaver, Gilmour, Minahan, Swales, Deany, Marcy and many others who’s deeds on the cricket field are etched in cricket folklore.

These are just a few of the many people who’s deeds are responsible for our marvelous history so detailed in the Club Chronology – a history we’re so proud of.

With a history like ours we are truly fortunate to have some memorabilia which still provides a window to our past and to the donors of the various items we are truly grateful. However for a club almost 150 years old there must be much more still around.

The Coburg Cricket Club is eager to contact any person who is in possession of any club memorabilia and who may wish to donate same for display at the club and on our internet site.

If you are in such a situation please contact the club via any number displayed on our club site. Any contribution would be gratefully received.
